GIVE US THE BACKGROUND - WHEN AND WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO OPEN A RECORD SHOP?

Vinyl Hunter was opened in 2015 by William Hunter aged only 19! Having been inspired by music all his life and by his Uncle's vast collection of vinyl records, as soon as he was old enough to start purchasing vinyl and was lucky enough to receive a turntable as a birthday gift he was hooked. Hoping to pursue a career in music journalism, Will did an NCTJ course at college but recognised a lack of record stores outside of London in the area he grew up in; East Anglia and specifically Suffolk. Will was lucky enough to have access to shop premises in Bury St Edmunds and after a brief stint in Rough Trade, London, used his savings to purchase stock and set up a shop. Vinyl Hunter was launched via social media in January 2015.
